I believe that what we do throughout the day changes what we get out of it. Therefore, morning, day, and night routines are a priority when it comes to self-care.
Morning routine
When I wake up, I can’t be worrying about distractions such as texting, scrolling through social media, and answering calls. As soon as I get out of bed, I get something to drink to refresh my body, wash my face with cold water, and brush my teeth. Right after, I sip on some more cold water with freshly squeezed lemon. Then I will go out for a 25-minute walk with my dog to release any negative energy that I had consumed from the prior day.
Day routine
Throughout the day I work on completing any school assignments, which includes homework, studying, and replying to important emails. Also, I add a workout routine that consists of a one-hour full-body workout. I like to use a timer filled with Tabata requirements. It helps me feel like I am getting the most out of the workout in this short period of time.
Night routine
Each evening, I close out any unfinished tasks, and take a shower to wash away the outside world. In doing so, I feel refreshed after a long day’s work. That feeling of accomplishment furthers my self growth.
To summarize, a combination of routine and self-control is necessary to progress. Accomplishing these day-to-day tasks will give you a feeling of achievement, even though they seem simple. This sense of achievement equips you with the resilience to handle any negative events that come your way. Each day will be rounded out with full of productive activities like working out, communicating with family, contemplating, journaling, and furthermore finding new and imaginative approaches to improve your lifestyle.
